Tyler Zheng
I started working with clay because i wanted to create unqiue planter designs for individual plants, drawing inspiration from plant forms and the ways that they grow. My designs reflect the adaptive process through which plants have evolved over millennia to thrive in different landscapes and climates.
Tyler Zheng was born in 1992 in Fuzhou, China. In 2015, he received his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering in Richmond, Virginia. He began working with clay in 2018, focusing on planter design, and has been primarily woodfiring since 2020. Zheng lives and works in San Francisco, and woodfires in Cobb Mountain.
